How to Add Products to Your Store

Add Products to your Store, monitor pricing, and set them on sale — all in one place, anytime — with Sitebeat.

Note: The Store option is only available for the Sitebeat eCommerce plan and will not appear on all other Sitebeat plans. Suppose you want to set up an online store with complete SSL protection as well as easy setup and monitoring of products and orders. In that case, you will need to upgrade your current Sitebeat plan or purchase a new Sitebeat eCommerce plan.

Follow the steps below to add products to your Online Store:

  1. Log In to access the Sitebeat dashboard.
  2. Under My Sites, click the Edit Site option on the website that you wish to manage.
  3. Note: If you want to edit a new site, you have to unpublish the current website and make your new site as your primary website.

    Under My Sites, click the [...] Ellipsis Icon on the top-right corner of the website to unpublish the current site. Click Unpublish Site, and then click Yes, Unpublish to confirm.

    Under My Domains, click the [...] Ellipsis Icon of the website that you want to replace as your primary website, then click Replace Primary. In the pop-up window, select the domain of the new website in the New Primary Domain list, then click Replace Primary. You can also click the Domains tab under My Sites to perform the necessary steps mentioned.

    You can now edit the new site that you wish to manage.

  4. Click Store from the left-side menu.
    If this is your first time accessing this option, click Get Started, and then wait a few seconds for the Sitebeat Editor to add a Store page and Shopping Cart icon to your website.
  5. Click Products from the Online Store left-side menu. A list of sample products pre-added by the system will appear here.

    To Edit, Hide, or Delete a product, hover your mouse pointer over a product and click the [...] Ellipsis Icon.

  6. Click the Add link above the list of Products on the left-side menu.
    You can also click on the All Products button at the bottom of the list, and then click Add Product.
  7. Click on the respective tab on the pop-up window to set the following:

    Product Tab:

    Set the following basic details for your Product:
    Name Change the default label to the actual Product Name.
    Category Select which Category you'd like to assign this Product to.

    If you haven't set up any Categories yet, this option will be greyed out. Set up your Product Categories later by clicking here.
    SKU Enter a Stock Keeping Unit for easy Product Inventory management.
    Require Shipping Enable this to specify the weight and dimensions of your Product.
    Description Add a short Product Description in the field provided.
    Price Enter the Product Price.
    On Sale If the Product is NOT On Sale, leave this field at ($0.00) zero Pricing. The amount entered under Price will appear on your actual website.

    If the Product is On Sale, enter the new Price here.

    An On Sale badge will appear on your Product Name or Photo with the previous pricing crashed-out (e.g. $50.00), followed by the percentage discount (e.g. Save 22%) and the new Sale Price that you entered.
    Product Availability Set whether you want this product information Visible or Hidden.
    Stock Control Enable this option to indicate the number of items you have on hand.

    When your stock number reaches zero, a Sold Out badge will appear on your Product Name or Photo.

    Variants Tab:

    Click on this tab to set Product Variants like size, colour, and other variations. Click on the Add Variant button, select a preset Variant to add or click Custom to create your own, then hover your mouse pointer over the added Variant and click Edit to set the following:
    Title Edit the name of your Variant.
    Type Choose how to display your options:

    • Select — The word "Select" will appear on a bar below the Variant Title, which customers can click to display a drop-down list and select the option they prefer.

      Customer can only select one option with this display Type.
    • Radio — Options will be displayed in bullet form below the Variant Title. Customers can click on the bullet beside the option they prefer.

      Customer can only select one option with this display Type.
    • Checkbox — Options will be displayed with checkboxes below the Variant Title. Customers can tick on the corresponding boxes to select an option.

      Customer can select multiple options with this display Type.
    Option Edit the fields under the Option column to include the choices you want to provide your Customers.

    Click the Add Options button at the bottom if you need to add more fields or click the [x] Icon on the right side of the field if you wish to remove it.
    Price Modifier & Amount If you do not want the Variant Options to make any changes on the Product's Pricing, leave these columns as they are.

    If you want the Prices to be different for each Variant, use the following tools to modify them:

    • [+] — Click this to add an amount [$] or percentage [%] on top of the Product Price.
    • [-] — Click this to deduct an amount [$] or percentage [%] from the Product Price.
    • [$] — Click this to add [+] or deduct [-] the actual amount you enter under the Amount column.
    • [%] — Click this to add [+] or deduct [-] the percentage you enter under the Amount column.

    For example, if you wish to add 5$ on top of the actual Product Price, click [+] and [$] then enter the number 5 under Amount.

    Or, if you wish to deduct 10% from the actual Product Price, click [-] and [%] then enter the number 10 under Amount.
    Default Set the default Variant to display when a Customer adds the Product to their Shopping Cart.

    After setting up the Variant's options, scroll back to the top and click Save.

    Photos Tab:

    Click on this tab to upload images of your product showing different angles or highlighting its features.

    We recommend not uploading more than (4) four images per product to avoid overwhelming your Customers.

    Hover your mouse pointer over an added image and click Make Primary to set it as the Primary Photo.

    Files Tab:

    Click on this tab if you wish to upload relevant files for your product, like certificates and other documents.
  8. Once satisfied with all the details you've added for your product, click on the Save button at the bottom-right corner of the pop-up window.
